Sing with The Saint Dunstan Schola
The Saint Dunstan Schola welcomes capable adult singers who desire to serve God through the Church’s sacred music.
Adult singers are not a separate choir from the children. Rather, they sing as part of one intergenerational ensemble with the young choristers of the Chorister Guild. This shared musical life is central to the identity of The Saint Dunstan Schola.
The ensemble rehearses weekly and sings regular liturgies throughout the Tampa Bay area. Repertoire includes Gregorian chant, Renaissance polyphony, Sacred choral works, Latin motets, traditional hymnody, and other sacred music appropriate to the liturgy.
We are especially interested in singers who can read music, blend well, commit to regular rehearsal, and approach sacred music with reverence, humility, and joy.
Adult Singer Expectations
Adult singers should be prepared to:
- Attend weekly rehearsals consistently
- Prepare music outside of rehearsal when needed
- Sing regular liturgies and occasional special services
- Read music or be actively developing music-reading skills
- Blend within an intergenerational ensemble
- Support the formation of young choristers
- Model discipline, reverence, and musicianship
- Approach rehearsals and liturgies with professionalism and charity
The Saint Dunstan Schola is both a musical ensemble and a community of formation. Adult singers play an essential role in helping young choristers grow into the Church’s sacred musical tradition.
